RUN-OFF FISHING: March - May
Best for barramundi! As monsoon rains ease barramundi swim from shrinking floodplains and channels back into swollen rivers. So too smaller bait fish and crustaceans are washed downstream toward the mouths of rivers/ creeks . . . and also the mouths of barra waiting in ambush! Mangrove habitats along the coast and in waterways like the Finniss River, where the current provides less resistance are favourite places for barramundi to hang out. This is their festival of food and there’s no better time to go after the mighty barra!
In the spirit of reconciliation, Skippers at Dundee acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the land
on which we gather and their connections to land,
sea and community.
We pay our respects to their Elders past and present and
extend that respect to all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples today.
